Hot Mackerel (Tenggiri Pedas) Cooking Recipes

mackerel, cut into small pieces

red chilies

shallots

stalks lemon grass

slices galangal

piece shrimp paste

tamarind juice

sprigs kesum leaves (sweet basil)

oil

salt to taste

Method :
  1. Season the fish with salt.
  2. Heat oil in an earthen pot and fry the ground ingredients until fragrant.
  3. Add tamarind juice and kesum leaves.
  4. Bring to boil.
  5. Lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the fish and cook until done.
  7. Serve hot with plain boiled rice.
