Crispy Fried Sardines Cooking Recipe

Ingredients :

500g

1 cup

1 cup

fresh sardines, cleaned and sealed

plain flour

eggs, beaten

dried breadcrumbs

oil for deep-frying

lemon wedges to serve

Method :
  1. Slice sardines lengthwise along the underside from head to tail, clean cavity, remove heads.

  2. Using heel of hand, flatten out.

  3. Coat each sardine in flour, then egg and breadcrumbs.

  4. Deep-fry the sardines in the oil, cook until golden.

  5. Drain on paper towels, serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Serves 4
