Fried Shrimp Toasts Recipes

Ingredients :

450g medium size shrimps

3 pieces white bread

19g Chinese ham

1 egg

2 tsp plain flour

Chinese parsley


1 tsp light soy sauce

1/2 tsp wine

1/5 tsp sugar

Method :

  1. Remove shell from shrimps but retain the tail. Wash and make a deep slit in center. Devein. Make 3 slight cuts on the abdomen. Work 1 cup of water into 1 tsp salt. Soak shrimps for 1 hour. Wipe dry. Add seasoning and marinate for 10 minutes. Dust with a little caltrop starch. Pat lightly with chopper. Set aside.

  2. Mix one egg with 2 tsp plain flour to form egg batter. Cut ham into small slices.

  3. Cut rim crusts off the bread. Arrange in domino shape. Brush with egg batter. Dip shrimps in egg batter. Then put shrimps on bread. Add a piece of ham and Chinese parsley. Then brush with egg batter again.

  4. Heat wok. Fry shrimps for a few minutes in warm oil until golden. Serve with Worcestershire sauce or pepper corn salt.
