medium sized pomfret

bottle white vinegar

cucumber

carrot

onion

sesame seed

piece ginger

red chilies

green chilies

cloves ginger

shallots

salt and sugar to taste

mustard seed

Method :

Clean the fish and rub on turmeric powder and salt. Deep fry until it is half cooked. Chop onion, garlic and shallots. Soak in lime water for 10 minutes. Slice the ginger thinly. Remove core of cucumber and carrot and slice about 1.5 cm length wise. Heat oil in frying pan and stir fry onion, sesame seed and mustard seed until golden brown. Add in vinegar and 1 cup of hot water. Add in radish, sliced ginger and fried fish. When the carrot is tender, add in cucumber. Remove from fire. When serving, garnish with chilies.
