Stuffed Marrow Recipes

Ingredients :

vegetable marrow


large onion

minced pork

diced yam bean

tapioca flour


sesame oil


chopped spring onions


Method :
  1. Scrape off the skin of the marrow, clean it and scoop out the central pith with a teaspoon.

  2. Shell, clean and chop the shrimps.

  3. Dice the onion to get 1 tablespoon diced onion.

  4. Mix the chopped shrimps, minced pork, yam bean, onion, 1 teaspoon tapioca flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sesame oil and pepper.

  5. Knead the ingredients well.

  6. Stuff the marrow with this mixture.

  7. Heat oil in a saucepan and fry the marrow, turning it frequently until evenly browed.

  8. Add 1 cup water with 1/4 teaspoon salt to the pan.

  9. Cover the pan and allow the marrow to simmer for 30 minutes until tender.

  10. Blend 1/2 teaspoon tapioca flour with 1 tablespoon water and thicken the gravy with it.

  11. Add in the spring onions, season to taste and serve whole or sliced.

Serves 4 - 6
